Aldis Hodge brings main character energy to every role he’s in. Whether he is playing an easy-on-the-eyes detective (City On The Hill) or a legendary sports figure (One Night In Miami), he leaves his mark on every project and we expect the same from the upcoming Prime Video series Cross. Hodge portrays criminal psychologist Alex Cross, based on James Patterson’s bestselling book series.

Hodge opened up about the highly anticipated series, his career, and being a father in the October Of The Essence digital cover story. “You can give me 15 Oscars right now and ask me what’s my proudest, happiest moment—it’s always going to be about my daughter,” he said.

Aldis is promoting Cross, which hits the streaming service on November 14. Jason Rembert styled the fashionable spread. Aldis wears an 𝐀𝐌𝐈 look on the cover shot and in another look, Aldis is seated by the pool wearing a Louis Vuitton. With a familial background in the military courtesy of his mother, it’s easy to see where he gets his toned physique and disciplined demeanor.

“We were raised with the discipline of a marine,” said the actor and businessman. “With the wits and the sharpness, and the aptitude of how marines move through the world.”

Hodge considers acting as a conduit to other opportunities for him to flourish. “Acting is one avenue of what I choose to do with my life, but it doesn’t define everything,” said Hodge. “It’s a nice conduit for the other ventures that I get into because I am a multihyphenate entrepreneur. I own different companies in different sectors of business. Acting is the one that’s most present on the profile, but for me, it was always about entrepreneurship and creativity.”

The Cross trailer has already received millions of views on Youtube proving how interested the audience is in the show. “The fan reaction really blew me away. I kept looking at YouTube, and it said over 14 million views, I’m talking within the first six days, and it kept growing,” he told ABC.

Cross has already been renewed for season two and we haven’t even gotten into season one yet. Be prepared to see a lot more of Aldis on your screen.
