Morris Chestnut is coming back to the small screen.

Spotted on Deadline, the Morris Chestnut-led series, Watson, will premiere on January 26 following the AFC Championship game.

According to the website, Watson will premiere at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT/7 p.m. PT, depending on how long the game takes to finish. The show’s regular timeslot will be Sunday, February 16, at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Chestnut’s Watson draws inspiration from Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes mysteries and will see the titular character using his skills for solving crimes to solve medical mysteries following the death of his beloved partner, Sherlock Holmes, at the hands of his longtime nemesis Professor Moriarity.

In the show, Chestnut takes the lead as Dr. John Watson, who puts down his detective hat to become the head of a medical clinic dedicated to caring for people with rare disorders.

Even though he’s moved on from this old life, Watson learns that this past isn’t done with him, as he bumps heads with Moriarity, providing a new entry into the Sherlock Holmes/Watson lore.

Also joining Chestnut on the show will be Eve Harlow, Peter Mark Kendall, Ritchie Coster, Inga Schlingmann, and Rochelle Aytes.

Watson continues Chestnut’s run on television. He has also starred in other recent series, Reasonable Doubt, The Resident, and Diarra From Detroit.

He also made his triumphant return as Lance, the widowed jock in Peacock’s 2022 series The Best Man: The Final Chapters.

So, ladies, make sure you set those DVRs. You don’t want to miss Morris Chestnut when Watson premieres.
