“Stay true to yourself.” That’s the advice “Pink Friday“ rapper Nicki Minaj gave this week while speaking at Vogue’s Force of Fashion event. The legacy publication’s annual gathering brings together tastemakers, insiders, and influencers from across the fashion and related industries to discuss the future of trends.
Each year, high-profile attendees slay the event and share style wisdom with fashionistas and fans alike, and Nicki’s words this year were no different.
“Keep doing you,” she continued. “Don’t stop to look around at what everyone else is doing. Be your true, authentic self, and that shines through, and people notice it. Don’t think they won’t – they do.”
The fashionable femcee’s advice came in response to a question from 2024 Paris Olympian Gabby Thomas. As part of the Vogue event, the three-time medalist greeted guests and probed them for insights and suggestions.
Gabby loved Nicki’s answer so much that she gave her a gold medal. “That was incredible,“ Gabby said. “I think that answer deserves a gold medal.”
Nicki gushed after Gabby gave her the gold. She smiled, thanked her Barbz, and exclaimed, “Wow, I’m an Olympian!”
Nicki also took the stage for a fireside chat during the stylish session, candidly answering questions about motherhood, her personal style, and her recent successful “Pink Friday“ tour.

Always ready to make an entrance, Nicki dripped in designer pieces at the event. She turned heads in a royal purple Alaia dress and a striking black Schiaparelli coat. She topped off the look with over-the-top gold jewelry, a mini bag, and sleek long dark tresses. The New York rapper did what she does best: serve the girls.
Nicki also dropped gems about getting older and growing in style, confidence, and self-love.
“When you turn a certain age—especially milestone ages like 30, 40, 50—your confidence as a woman just grows and grows. You know what looks good on your body. You start knowing what hairstyle fits your face, what makeup suits you,“ she shared.
“When you understand yourself better, you forgive yourself. You’re able to love yourself, and you’re able to love the imperfections you never loved before. I couldn’t look at old photos of myself before, but when I look at them now, I love them.”
