As the countdown to Election Day continues, Cardi B joined the ever-growing lineup of powerful voices backing Vice President Kamala Harris. On November 1, Cardi B delivered a speech in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at the “Win We Vote We Win” rally alongside other Black women powerhouses. MC Lyte, GloRilla, and Flo Milli also took the stage.
But it was Cardi who stole the spotlight last night. With her authentic message and fierce, unapologetic style, she slayed a moment she says she’s been “waiting for her whole life.”
She graced the stage in an all-white designer suit, complete with a structured wrap-around jacket cinched at the waist and mini skirt. Her outfit, paired with sleek white gloves and chic, pointy heels, radiated confidence and elegance.
With her hair styled in a glamorous vintage updo, she embodied a blend of old Hollywood and modern influence. The look was giving very Jackie Kennedy Onassis.
Despite a slightly nervous start to her speech, Cardi eventually found her rhythm. She didn’t hold back, quickly diving into a comparison with Vice President Harris herself: “I’ve been underestimated. My success, belittled and discredited. Women have to work 10 times harder, perform 10 times better, and still, people question how we got to the top.”
Her words echoed the sentiments of many women who have fought to shatter glass ceilings, dispute stereotypes and create change.
Cardi highlighted the importance of women’s rights and maternal health in her speech. She advocated for women making hard decisions for their mental and physical health and gave a heartfelt shoutout to single women. We were here for it!
Number one to back down from controversy, Cardi addressed her previous hesitations about voting. The “Enough” rapper admitted that she changed her mind.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper said that Harris “joining the race changed [her] mind completely.” As HB previously reported, Cardi discussed the possibility of Kamala entering the race earlier this year.
Of VP Harris, the Bardi Gang leader said, “I believe in every word that comes out of her mouth. She’s passionate, she’s compassionate, she shows empathy, and most of all, she’s not delusional.”
Whether it’s music, entertainment, fashion, or now, politics, seeing women champion each other and show up when it matters. In all her flawless, fierce, and fashion-forward glory, Cardi B reminded us of what we can and will do to change HERstory.
