Music titan Quincy Jones has been laid to rest one week after his passing at the age of 91.
The family of the 28x Grammy-winning producer, composer, and arranger held a private ceremony in Los Angeles. A larger, more public memorial is also in the works.
A statement to the Associated Press revealed that Jones’ seven children, his brother, two sisters, and immediate family members attended the intimate ceremony. The cemetery where the ceremony took place was not revealed.
The family added that they remain “enormously grateful for the outpouring of condolences and tributes from his friends and fans from around the world. Details for a memorial celebration of Mr. Jones’ life will be announced at a later date.”
In lieu of flowers, Jones’ family asks for fans to donate to the Jazz Foundation of America.

Immediately following his Nov. 3 passing, tributes came pouring in from some of the biggest names in music, media, and politics. The night before his private memorial, NBC’s Saturday Night Live honored Jones with a memorial photo at the end of the show. Jones served as the guest host for the February 10, 1990 episode.
