This morning, Dec. 9, Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut announced the ceremony’s 2025 film and television nominees.

Fan favorites such as Wicked, Abbott Elementary, Gladiator II, Dune: Part II, The Bear, and Emilia Pérez all (expectedly) landed nominations. Along with 26 total first-time nominees (including Pamela Anderson, Zoe Saldana, Glen Powell, Ariana Grande, Jesse Plemons, Karla Sofia Gascon, and Nikki Glaser), Viola Davis will be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award, and Ted Danson with the Carol Burnett Award.

“It’s an exciting, yet challenging gig because it’s live, unpredictable, and in front of Hollywood’s biggest stars (who also might be getting wasted while seated next to their recent exes).” –Nikki Glaser, 2025 Golden Globe Host

The ceremony is set to air Sunday, January 5 on CBS (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subs the day after).
