Thanksgiving may be behind us, but the buzz around Kyrie Irving’s holiday appearance on Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 2 live stream on Twitch has yet to die down.
During his visit with Cenat, Irving broke out into song. “Yahweh” by Mali Music was his melody of choice. In a clip posted to Instagram, the Dallas Mavericks point guard could be seen walking around the room, bouncing up and down to the 2009 song. His pure joy was on display for the world to see and according to commenters, his vocals weren’t half bad. The comments were leaning toward the desire to see more positive and spiritual moments from Irving.
While Irving reportedly converted to Islam in 2021, he was raised by Christian parents. Former Hillsong pastor Carl Lentz also served as his mentor in 2017.
In addition to his impromptu praise and worship session during the stream, the basketball star has also been going viral for busting out some dance moves with Cenat and Tylil. One video has been viewed more than 1.5 million times on X, formerly known as Twitter.

While he sat out of Sunday’s game against the Portland Trailblazers for a sore shoulder, Irving is having strong season with 24.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game.
Irving has been traded twice over the course of his career. He began with the Cleveland Cavaliers as a first overall pick in 2011 and then won the championship with them in 2016 alongside LeBron James. He then was traded to the Boston Celtics in 2017. From there he went over to the Brooklyn Nets. In 2023, he was traded from the Nets to his current home, the Dallas Mavericks.
