The Gospel Superfest is back to celebrate its 25th anniversary with a night of music, worship, and inspiration.

This historic event will take place on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Morgan State University’s Murphy Fine Arts Center in Baltimore, Md. Actress Vivica A. Fox is set to host the evening that will feature dynamic performances from over 30 gospel artists.

Though the full setlist hasn’t been released, the Gospel Superfest has historically brought together legends in the genre. Past performers include Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin, and Hezekiah Walker. Contemporary artists such as Tasha Cobbs Leonard and Travis Greene have also graced the stage. Knowing choirs are inherent to gospel, the Superfest team has welcomed the Shirley Caesar Choir and the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. With the rising popularity of Christian hip-hop artists, we wonder if any are included in the line up as well.

Gospel Superfest has not been held annually in the same city, but it has found a home in multiple venues across the nation. This year marks the second time it will be held in Baltimore. The city’s vibrant cultural scene and rich musical history make it the perfect setting for such a landmark event.

A Vision Turned Reality

Not to be mistaken for the McDonald’s Gospelfest, the Gospel Superfest is a vision of Dr. Bobby Cartwright, Jr. The Dayton, Ohio native’s concept has grown from a single concert in Louisville, Kentucky into a series of five Gospel Superfest shows each year. Ohio station 91.7 WXVU called Cartwright the biggest producer you’ve never heard of. Illusive as he may be, Cartwright’s programming can be seen on BET, TBN, TV One, Bounce and the Gospel Music Channel. Now millions of viewers and music lovers participate annually.

Even with exponential growth, Cartwright’s mission for the Gospel Superfest has remained: to provide a platform for gospel music that transcends boundaries and brings people together in worship. Over the past two and a half decades the event has done just that. With its roots firmly planted in faith, it’s also proven to be more than just a concert. Inspiration, transformation, and community are indelible to the experience.

Don’t Miss This Historic Celebration

This year’s quarter-century celebration promises to be one for the history books. Host Vivica A. Fox’s magnetic presence and deep commitment to promoting Black culture and excellence make her an ideal choice. She is sure to bring a dynamic energy to the event. Her enthusiasm and passion for the arts will set the perfect tone for an evening of unforgettable performances.

This gathering will be a night of joy, reflection, and worship that honors the rich history of gospel music while looking forward to its future. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a first-time attendee, Gospel Superfest 2025 promises an unforgettable experience. Be sure to secure your tickets and join in the celebration of 25 years of music, faith, and unity!

Tickets for this unforgettable event will be available starting January 21, 2025, and can be purchased at www.gospelsuperfest.com.
