The Cleveland Browns made a big move Saturday, trading up to select quarterback Shedeur Sanders at No. 144 overall.

Sanders, once projected as an early-round pick, slid into the fifth round, surprising many across the NFL.

He becomes the second quarterback Cleveland selected this draft, joining Dillon Gabriel from the third round.

At Colorado last season, Sanders posted a 74% completion rate, leading all FBS quarterbacks.

He also threw 37 touchdowns, second-most in the FBS, and passed for 4,134 yards, ranking fourth nationally.

Sanders won the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year award and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

Over two seasons at Colorado, Sanders threw 64 touchdowns, breaking the school’s all-time record.

Despite weak offensive line play, Sanders continued to produce at an elite level, getting sacked 94 times.

When blitzed, Sanders maintained a 74% completion rate with 14 touchdowns and only three interceptions.

Critics point to his limited mobility and tendency to hold the ball too long as concerns.

Still, the Browns see huge potential in Sanders, betting on his arm talent and leadership under pressure.

Cleveland fans now have two exciting young quarterbacks competing for the future of the franchise.
